Meet Buddy

The best ears in the game! Buddy is a German Shepherd named after the first US guide dog! She’s proud to continue that legacy and will be your most loyal companion.

Why am I special? I represent a real-life Guide Dog and an incredible moment in history. Buddy the German Shepherd arrived in New York City on June 11, 1928 with her owner Morris Frank, and together they worked to advocate for the right of blind people to have their guide dogs with them everywhere!

There are lots of types of blindness. We have Stargardt's, a type of macular degeneration that means we lose vision in the center of the retina. This simulator gives you peek at what its like to peep with our peepers.
